I just could not stop eating these caramel oatmeal bars.. The combination of gooey and crunchy makes it the perfect texture 🙂 better than a granola bar! Easy and quick to make (and to eat it all), these caramel oatmeal bars are quite addictive. Perfect to make ahead and to eat with your fingers.
Recipe: Gooey caramel oatmeal bars
Ingredients
- 500 ml rolled oats
- 250 ml wheat flour
- 250 ml raw sugar
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 75 ml golden syrup or molasses
- 125 g butter room temperature
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Heat oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
- Add the liquid ingredients and stir it all together
- Take a baking sheet/pan of around 20*20 cm (8 in) and line it with parchment paper
- Pour out the mixture evenly and then bake for 15-20 minutes
- Let it cool a bit before you cut them in squares or bars
